A request for future software changes. I finally have some hours flying behind me display and would like to offer a change that really drives me crazy. When in the map display screen, the knob that is used to zoom in and zoom out is of the wrong orientation. Standard knob orientation, when referring to zoom in/zoom out, is turn the knob clockwise to zoom in and CCW to zoom out. This is a standard for turning items on or off and for opening a screw lid. I can learn to retrain myself but for standardization and to be intuitive, I would ask if this could be changed. Just a thought.. ::)

Actually, this is standard as it is today. Almost all aviation maps use the idea of "range" not "zoom". So you are increasing range when you go clockwise.

A lot of us at Dynon find this counter-intuitive as well, but we did our research and this is the standard so we used it. We actually had it as "zoom" in our beta phase and a lot of our testers found this counter-intuitive, so it just matters how you think. When in doubt, use what everyone else does.

Good point... Increasing rang would be cw and zooming out would be CCW. I guess your right, it's all how you look at it. I look at it as the main function is zooming out and the result is a zoomed out map screen. That is the primary goal and not to just increase the range ring. Complicated! I guess if this has already been studied and there are no other complaints, I'll just retrain my one track mind. ;)
