Steam gauge question

I put a D10A in place of a vacuum gyro. Now the vacuum gauge is pegging, reading twice as much vacuum as with two gyros. I would expect this, but what I want to know is if it is a problem, or do I need to reset the vacuum regulators (on both engines).

If it is above the green arc in flight I would adjust the regulators.

On mine it is a simple device with an adjustment screw (hand adjustable) inside the cockpit. I believe it acts simply as a "controlled leak."

Mine are on the engine side of the firewall. Do you want to help me adjust them? :)

Sure, but not if it is as hot as it was yesterday when I cut in front of you to fly!

How's the D10A doing for you?

We'd offer advice, but if it has moving parts, we're lost. What are these "vacuum" devices that you're on about? ;)

Glad the Dynon is working out for you!

I found a solution. I tried adjusting the vacuum regulator, but it wouldn't go low enough. Instead of blocking off the un-used vacuum line from the old AI, I connected it to the vacuum filter. I put a nylon bold inside the line, with a 1/16" hole drilled through it. It is a restrictor, with about the same flow as the former AI.
