Suggestion for EFIS feature

Once of the features that I built into my glareshield AOA display (V-Speed ADS from www.vx-aviation.com) is the ability to provide a FLAPS extended alarm when exceeding Vfe and the flaps are extended.

In the spirit of obsoleting my own product (and improving Dynon's), I think it would be very useful to have airspeed alarms (Vfe and Vne) incorporated into the Dynon EFISs. It would be even better if they were audible rather than just a visual display.

To do this, you'd need one switched input to sense (switched to ground) in order to determine if the flaps are extended. Is there any 'secret' provisioin for this, and if so can it be utilized for this feature?

There isn't currently much integration between the EFIS and EMS, so this isn't currently possible. The integration will be much tighter in the release after this upcoming one.

We do now support analog flap input, which could also be used with a digital switch if so desired. In the future we might add an alarm that is based on flap position vs. airspeed. No promises, but it will go on our list of possible future features.
