SV-D1000 Synthetic Vision Upgrade

I am looking at a plane for sale that has two SV-D1000 panels. It has been sitting with very little use since they were installed around 2011.

The current owner said it did not have synthetic vision.

My question is will synthetic vision will work on this panel with Updating the firmware & software?

All SkyViews sold in 2011 have Synthetic Vision, and SkyView has had synthetic vision since it first shipped in 2009. It likely doesn't have the correct database loaded for the area it is flown in, or SynVis is just turned off.

Whatever the issue is, it can be fixed with the system still in the plane.
