I have a new SV-HDX1100 on the way to upgrade my current one panel SV-D1000T system. I looked through the HDX install manual for any specific upgrade instructions. Nothing found. Been a few years since I provisioned my SV-1000T from scratch.

If I export the settings from my SV-D1000T before I take it out, can I simply install the SV-HDX1100, turn it on and import the settings from the SV-D1000T? With old settings imported, will I have to set up all of the network devices again in the SV-HDX1100?

I understand the engine instruments will have to be set up in the SV-HDX1100 since it has a different lay out.

Any other tips about making the conversion would be appreciated.

Also when this is all done I will have a three year old SV-D1000T available for sale at a good price. If anyone is interested let me know.

Basically, yes and yes. The settings export and import will transfer most things, with the exception of a few things like tach and hobbs time (those aren't imported so that settings imports don't roll your times back. they ARE in the settings file though so that you can manually grab them). You'll also need to do the network setup again. An upgrade guide set of steps is something we'll consider developing.

Well that was not hard. Thought I would update this thread for the next person upgrading from the SV-1000T to SV-HDX1100 in my Carbon Cub.

Here are the steps I used which seemed to work well:

1. Save settings from SV-1000T to USB memory stick.
2. Install HDX.
3. Start HDX then bring firmware up to date.
4. Do Network "Detect" on the HDX. All my devices showed up though some needed firmware updates moving from 15.0 to 15.1.
5. Import settings saved from SV-1000T.
6. Update Hobbs and Tach times.

That's it. I did not have to set up the Serial Devices (GPS, ADSB & Transponder). They all showed up after importing settings from the SV-1000T.

The only thing that needed to be configured (as expected) was the new HDX Bottom Engine Band. I am still changing around widgets.

I have made one flight and everything seems to be working.

Some initial impressions. The screen is really impressive. It is like getting a new set of glasses. Crisp, clear and much more readable. Screen appears brighter than my SV-1000T but the specifications say both screens are the same brightness. Much easier to read in direct sunlight. Buttons and knobs are more intuitive than the cursor knobs on the SV-1000T.
