The SV-GPS-2020 is designed specifically for the Dynon Avionics SkyView system. A SkyView system that has an SV-XPNDR-261 transponder and an SV-GPS-2020 GPS receiver will be compliant with the US FAA 2020 ADS-B Out mandate. The SV-GPS-2020 is not intended for use with any system or unit other than SkyView, and (at this moment) any country other than the US.
Because we designed the SV-GPS-2020 for SkyView's requirements (such as position updates 5x/second), it transmits at a high baud rate, and transmits other data (for the required "high integrity") that results in the SV-GPS-2020 being generally incompatible with any unit (that typically can only receive data at low baud rates such as 4800 or 9600) other than SkyView.
Given that the mandate requires that an aircraft's ADS-B Out be designed/tested as a SYSTEM, we suggest you contact Bendix/King/Honeywell and ask them what high integrity GPS unit they suggest for use with the KT 74 for compliance with the mandate as an ADS-B Out system.
Hello. I just wanted to know if the SV-GPS-2020 GPS system is compatible with a KT 74. I have a relatively new KT 74 and I am not looking to spend the money to replace it but I would love to purchase the SV-GPS-2020 and connect it to my current KT 74 for ADS-B Out compliance. Please advise.
