SV-Net Cable EMS AUX Pin 5 (Sub-D)

I have a few questions:

Do only the SV-EMS modules (SV-EMS-220/221) always require the “EMS AUX” pin 5 (Sub-D) connection?
Can the connection on the cable be omitted when operating only one SV-EMS module?
Can the connection be omitted from the cable for other modules such as ADHRS, SV-AP-PANEL, ... in general?

My magnetometer works without pin 5 in the harness. I can’t comment on which other modules would work without pin 5, but I suspect the EMS is going to require a wire that’s described as “EMS Auxiliary Voltage”.
