It is my understanding that the Trig TT22 transponder (00745-00-01) is already capable of receiving GPS position information from a TSO'd GPS in order to transmit the ADS-B Out information.  Their installation manual specifically mentions they are compatible with the Freeflight 1201 & 1204 WAAS/GPS Sensors.

Can you please confirm that the previously mentioned software upgrade that will be available with the ADS-B IN Module will ALSO allow the SV-XPNDR-261 (00745-00-03) to be interfaced with the Freeflight GPS sensors specifically?  I found out today that the Freeflight serial output is not compatible with the Skyview serial inputs and want to know that this will not be an issue with the transponder.  I have a 1201 unit that I would like to install at this time and start using when the transponder software upgrade becomes available.

We expect our next major software update will include the ability to tell the transponder module that it has an external GPS connected in one of a few formats (one of them being the Freeflight format), which is what you're looking for. Note that the freeflight module will only be supported by the transponder directly. We don't have any plans to support that format as a GPS input for SkyView's position source.

However, if you haven't gone out and bought that module yet, note that until 2020, you can allow SkyView's non-certified GPS position to flow to the transponder (the default configuration), and that will wake up the ADS-B system so that it will give you back your traffic portrait. Between now and 2020, virtually the only difference between using SkyView's position vs a certified position source is that you're ready for 2020. We expect that closer to 2020, there will be more affordable ways to get a certified GPS signal, though.

That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. I completely understand that the Skyview will be unable to use the Freeflight output. That's not a problem as I also have your GPS puck AND a panel mount Garmin.  I am only concerned with the transponder input.  It's a long story, but I already have the Freeflight unit, and I'm in the process of getting it installed. At least I'll be ready for 2020 and can spend all future cash on gas.  :)  Thanks for the response.
