SV1000 Screen Flicker

Flying dusk to dark, as ambient darkened and screen began to dim, back light began to flicker. The dimmer the screen became the more obvious the flicker, both views (EFIS and map) to a lesser extent on map I think because it is brighter. Weird is that the rate of flicker could be changed with engine RPM. Steady 14.5 volts and about 15 amps. Finger on light sensor had no additional effect. With bright daylight and bright screen no problem. I did not try manual dimming sorry to say. What might I try to help correct? Running 3.1 firmware. RV-8A

We think there might be a mechanical issue going on. Next time it happens, try touching the screen glass and pressing on it lightly. Does that change anything?

Flicker stops when you push on the screen at the edges: both thumbs right and left edges next to black frame, or either top or bottom. Switching mags, and turning off alternator have no effect. Does not flicker on ground at idle or in the air at low power settings, or when screen is bright, or when rpm is up around 2700 or down to 2300 with the dark screen. I've had some vibration issues off and on and will work on adjusting those in the next couple of days and let you know how it goes. I'd like it to go away but can live with it in the long run.
IO 360 with 10.5 to 1 compression and electronic ignition...Jack L.

Vibration reduction did not work. I notice the bottom of the screen has no rear support as do the top and right and left sides. What's next? Thanks, Jack L

We're looking into the issue further, but unfortunately don't have a solution or anything for you to try at the moment.

Just for info, I flew the latest test flight in daylight using the dim menu.
The flicker started on the first click reduction in brightness from the max being delivered by auto. It appears to be in the backlight, not in the video. Thanks for the help. Jack L.

I can tap the instrument panel and the SV screen responds with a flicker. Connectors on the back of the unit are not involved...Jack L
