Hi,

I consider buying 2 DEK-D180 with a Dynon AutoPilot installed on one of them.

However I want to continue using my TABLET PC with the navigation program PocketFMS for pre-flight planning and during-flight navigation.

Would it be possible to feed the DEK-D180 AutoPilot "live" with my TABLET PC, so that the AutoPilot will follow the MULTI-WAYPOINT FlightPlan from my TABLET PC ?

If so would that mean a cable connection BEHIND the dahsboard ?

Many thanks for your reply.

Kind regards,

Paul

Basically, if your PC program can output the NMEA sentences described here out of a 9 pin RS-232 serial port (many PCs don't have them, but you can potentially use a USB-Serial converter, though your program may not support NMEA out at all), it could work. You can fashion a 9 pin serial connector from behind the FlightDEK-D180 that would connect to the PC's 9 pin.

Also, note that for a dual screen redundant setup, we'd generally recommend a D180/D100 combination since the EMS side of the second D180 can't be hooked up to the single set of engine sensors at the same time as the primary D180.
