I have dual Lightspeed Engineering CDI ignition systems on my Lyc IO-540. According to Lightspeeds diagrams the tach output from the box is 0.3V=3000 rpm. What should I use for input to my EMS-D10 to get tach readout correct?

Thanks,
Don Jeffries

You're going to need to install a tach sender in order to get RPM off of those mags, since the output is completely non-standard. The usual one we recommend is one Van's Aircraft sells, under the part number VTACHGEN 12 or VTACHGEN 2 (depends on if you have a vacuum pump).

I found a tach signal output for electric tach. It's specs are 3 pulses per rev and is apparently a 1.5ms +10v pulse. Would this be the correct input for the EMS-D10 tach?

Thanks again,
