Can you suggest sources for a transducer? Are Hall effect types the best choice?

What kind of engine are you running? Most engines do not need any transducer, we use signals already on the engine.

You should be able to hook to the p-leads off the magentos on that engine with no transudcers. How to do this is covered in the install manuals.
