I have an electronic constant speed propeller which is connected to the EMS tachometer wire. Sometimes the tacho readings on the ems are erratic. How can I isolate the governor from the ems and still have the signal going to the EMS and the governor? If I disconnect the governor the EMS works fine.

What kind of engine? Are they basically both hooked to the mag p-leads? It sounds like the prop system is somehow tainting the signal. Depending on the behavior, a resistor of a certain size may help. When its erratic, does it ALWAYS underread or overread?

The engine is a Rotax ULS 100HP. The Dynon and the governor are connected to the rotax rpm signal generator. The erratic reading is above and below the actual RPM and sometimes the tacho even goes to zero.

The governor is evidently doing something to the line - maybe loading the voltage down. A resistor applied inline to ONLY the governor could be a possibility, but you'd need to talk to the governor manufacturer to figure out whether or not this is possible or practical. Don't just experiment here - you could end up making your governor malfunction if this isn't viable. For your knowledge, we need a pulse that rises to at least 10V, and goes back down to ground.
