Taildragger AOA issue

I have a D180 FlightDeck with the AOA probe in my RV8 taildragger. Even with the new 5.6.1 software and setting the MINSPD value to 50, the AOA warning comes on just as I land (that is ok) but then stays on until I shut down (that is very annoying).

Presumably this is because a taildragger always has a high AOA while taxiing on the ground. The installation manual says "If the AOA alarm is already sounding as airspeed falls below this threshold, it will continue to sound until the high AOA condition is resolved", but in a taildragger on the ground it never is resolved.

I read that the warning will shut off when the ASI reads 15 kts, but my ASI always jumps around between 18 and 20 kts after a landing, even with the engine off and on a calm day. After a few minutes it sometimes randomly drops below 15 and the alarm shuts off.

Is there either a) a way to push a button to silence the alarm, or b) a way to make the ASI read correctly after the landing or c) a way to adjust that 15 kt threshold to say 30 kt?

Do other taildragger pilots have this issue?

You need to do a zero airspeed calibration. Page 9-5 of the install manual.

I also have experienced a similar issue in my taildragger with D10A.  My AoA audio warning does not stay active until I stop, but it does stay on well past taxiing off the runway.  Rather annoying.

I'm planning to make a 10 second delay interrupter with a 555 timer and a momentary pushbutton and install it inline with the audio wire.

Sure would be nice of one of the buttons on the D10A unit could be used as a momentary mute for the AoA warning.

Have you played with the SETUP > AOAALM > MINSPD setting?

Yes, I have tried setting it to to different values and it doesn't seem to help.  In reading the manual it states

"While in the menu, press MINSPD to configure the minimum airspeed at which an AOA alarm can occur.Anytime airspeed is below the MINSPD value, AOA alarms will not occur; anytime it is abovthe MINSPD value, alarms can occur. If the AOA alarm is already sounding as airspeed falls below this threshold, it will continue to sound until the high AOA condition is resolved."

The last sentence is the problem. I get the AOA alert as the aircraft comes just over the numbers.  It remains on until the AOA condition is resolved (even below the MINSPD setting).

In my aircraft that AOA condition doesn't appear to resolve until I'm under 20mph or so.  This means the AOA alert is sounding through the rollout/turn off. This is particularly annoying since tower is calling me right at that time for taxi/contact ground instructions.

A temporary 10 second mute with one of the buttons would be great.  As I mentioned, I'll just have to make my own mute timer.
