A number of the guys I fly with have D100 and D180's. After mentioning that SkyView gives a verbal warning when the G's build, they asked if you could add a audio warning of high G loads that they can set at a threshold of their choosing. (Typically 4 G's.) They would also like to have the D100/180 pop up the G meter when that threshold is met and passed.

While talking with a group of pilots over the weekend about the SV and its built-in G meter, one of the pilots asked if the G meter could call out the G’s, when above a set threshold. For example; “Two G’s”, “Three G’s”, "Four G's", etc. That way they will know they are getting close to the limits when doing acrobatics.

That is not currently an option. You can however set the limit when it starts announcing "Gees, Gees" to any level you want.

What is the purpose of it calling 2, 3, and 4 G's, if the limit of your plane is 6 or 9?

Exactly the question I asked. The answer was that without looking down, they can tell how many G's they are pulling. Since the G's are not instantaneous, they know what they are pulling when playing chase or pulling up into a loop.

Just to be clear, this feature is more for the SV than the classic EFIS's.
