Technical information on Fuel Flow Input Signal

I have an alternative engine with a full return fuel injection system system. To get a fuel flow function I know I can use two transducers plus the Matronics fuel computer to process the A minus B flow numbers to get a proper signal for the Skyview. I would prefer to avoid the two transducers in the system if possible.

Another possible option I have is to use a processed signal derived from the injector pulse width.  I have a processor that was made to work for the Blue Mountain EFIS that may work.  Here are the specs of it's signal output.

Frequency output of 500 HZ to 1.8 KHZ +/- 0.03% non-linearity.  TTL square wave, 50%. Max drive 20ma, approx ten TTL loads.  Higher flow equals lower frequency.

Voltage output +2.4 to +8.4 @ 10ma.  Higher flow equals higher voltage.

Would it be possible to have a person familiar with the needed signal input review this for compatibility and report back here?

Thanks in advance..

Re: Technical information on Fuel Flow Input Signa

Randy,
You could design a gauge to take that analog voltage and display it as fuel flow. But we couldn't use it for the fuel computer, it would just be a number on the screen.

The frequency won't work with our system.

We did design the EMS hardware to read a fuel injector directly, with no converters, but the software isn't there yet. Once we do this we can get RPM and fuel flow with one connection Not sure when we'll be able to get to that in the overall priority list though.
