touch screen error

When I touch the touch screen it sometimes locks up, (it does not accept any touch commands), until I reboot. If I turn on the touch tracker I can see the touch dot stays on the screen after my finger is lifted. If I retouch the dot and move it it then lift my finger it disappears and the touch function continues to work. The issue is a horizontal area about 2/3 down the screen and 1" wide from left to right.

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

I can 100% navigate the menu with the joy stick even when the touch screen is not working.

That sounds like you might have a hardware problem with your touchscreen. If you haven't already, please contact our support team. Contact info is in our signature.

Yes there is a horizontal band in the digitizer that is not sensing properly. I contacted Dynon and was told it would cost $450 and I would be grounded for approximately 3 weeks.
There is nothing else failing on the system, everything else works just this one line on the screen is an area I have to avoid. The joystick is the option to navigate and it works fine. I understand the flat rate, seems high for this issue ....... but the 3 weeks AOG is a deal breaker.
I would consider trading it in for a HDX if a trade in program becomes available.

I did not send mine in, I felt for $450, I could live with it.
My work around was to turn on the touch indicator. It shows where you are touching the screen with a transparent circle. Now when my screen gets stuck when I raise my finger the spot stays. I retouch the spot and move it up or down into an area of the screen that is active and then lift my finger and the screen is back to normal working.
