OK, after waiting for a year to trade in my SV1000 for the touch version, I have to admit...

It ROCKS! I'm not a big fan of touchscreen stuff, but I will say that Dynon has really done a wonderful job here. Being able to instantly bring up the Info pages, or touch a field and then immediately manipulate it (e.g., baro) with a knob, etc., really kicks butt.

I know I've only found a fraction of what it does with the touchscreen capability, as I've only done two flights with it...but let me say the wait was worth it!

Glè mhath, Dynon!

OK, the rest of us in waiting are suffering enough from anxiety attacks as it is, you are not helping these attacks with such reports :-(

Well, not to be a party pooper. I now have many more flights now on touch the past 6 months. Honestly, I stopped using the "touch" features on the PFD. The only "touch" i use on the PFD is the transponder because there is no "knob" function for the transponder.

I find trying to "touch" the various bugs like heading, vertical speed, course, etc. to be harder than just reaching for the knob. Sometimes you miss the target, sometimes the touch doesnt register, etc. For me, it's just easier using the knob.

However, I do find "touch" features to be a natural fit for all the MAP functions. Panning, pinch zooming in and out, etc. all do work well. The virtual keyboard is nice for airport ids. However, even the virtual keybard i dont use as much as i thought compared to just NRST or RECENT. Maybe if i take more longer trips or in a new area, i would probably use it more.

Finally, the touch hardware is definitely faster for SVT than SV screens. I notice the speed difference esp. on the map.

My 2c worth!

The exchange program is alive and well, I sent mine off on the 13th, got it back today, the 23rd. Looks like a brand new unit!
