Hello everyone

This is my first post and I have a question??

I just saw on the Dynon web site that you will have a Trade-In program so I would like to know when do you plan on taking new orders for the new Gen EFIS and when is the Trade -In program schedule to start.

I presently fly behind a BMA G3 and I'm looking at upgrading it.

Thanks

We will start taking trade-ins when we start shipping the next product. But that won't be until sometime next year.

The trade in program is only for Dynon equipment, in order to show support for all of our previous customers. We won't be taking competitive units.

I too would like to have more info on the trade in program. I presently have the Dynon Flightdek D-180 (New and still in the box). I'm looking at installation of my panel in about 6-8 months (I'm still in the building stages of my aircraft). What would my options (or others who are in a similar situation) be for upgrading &/or trading in be? Both for the 7 and 10" models.

Thanks for providing excellent products for experimental aircraft.

We don't have 100% of the specifics worked out, but it won't be too complex. We'll give you about 50% of the MSRP of your unit, no matter when it was purchased, towards any next-gen product. So the D-180 would yield about a $1600 discount on any next-gen screen, plus a few more dollars if you have options like a battery or bright screen.

Things like all your engine probes are compatible, so you won't trade those in.

It may be worth noting that an enterprising person might sell a new, out of the box D-180 for better than 50% off.

Of course there is EBay, but there is also the Vans RV Forums. I would guess that a solid majority of homebuilders visit that site from time to time, even if they are not RV flyers (which I am not).

Agreed, today you can probably get more than 50% for a unit on the open market. The trade-in program is meant more for people that are flying units right now, and will fly them until the day they get the new Dynon stuff. At that time, there might be thousands of units for sale, and this trade in system promises that the value will always be at least 50% of what you paid.
