I am finalizing my wiring and wanted to make sure I get this correct. An earlier posting noted the following:
In the event of an electrical failure that causes SkyView to run on the SV-BAT-320, the SV-BAT-320 supplies power to the SkyView display it is connected to, along with any connected SV-ADAHRS-26X, SV-EMS-220/221, SV-ARINC-429, and SV-GPS-250 modules. Because of higher power requirements, the SV-BAT-320 does not power Autopilot servos, the SV-XPNDR-26X, or any other external device.
Does this mean that if I power my SV-XPNDR-261 off an essential bus so it remains powered separately than the main aircraft electrical bus, and the Skyview display continues to operate off the back up battery, the transponder will continue to operate even with an aircraft power failure? In other words, as long as both the Skyview and transponder are powered, the transponder will continue to operate.
I understand that there is a complicating factor in not having a GPS position input for the transponder for the purposes of ADS-B, but would having an SV-GPS-250 backup installed remedy this shortfall for the transponder?
