Transponder and static check

I'm getting my new dynon transponder checked next week, and I wanted to also do the static system for IFR check. I remember reading something about the procedure for checking the static system with a skyview. Something about the way to bring the altitude up and shutting off the skyview. I searched the site and can't seemto find it. Can someone point me to the info?  Thanks.
