I'm in the wiring phase of the project now, and the Skyviews are up and running, with the EMS hookup complete. All of the EMS sensors are working properly - at least until engine start, then there's a whole bunch more items to check off.
I'm trying to use C37-P4 as the input pin for a trim indicator with a Ray Allen trim servo. I've searched and found all the old posts on the subject, and have hooked up the orange pot lead to Aux +5, blue to ground, and green to C37-P4. This all seems to work as expected, and the sensor debug page shows P4 voltage varying in the expected ways as trim is cycled up and down.
But how do I get it to display on the EMS page? Actually, I'd like it to display on the PFD page, but it seems only the EMS page is configurable for EMS sensors.
When mapping sensor inputs, for pin 4, selecting a position sensor only allows the choices of elev, flaps, rudder, and aileron. Elev seems close so I choose it. Then when editing the screen layout, for instance for the 100% page, I try to choose a sensor input, but ELEV POSITION isn't a choice. There is a TRIM POSITION choice, and choosing it places a widget on the screen, but it's not at all clear where that widget is getting its input data, and it doesn't seem to be related to pin 4.
I tried hacking up custom sensor and ems config files. I was able to get a trim position sensor as a choice for pin 4, so the sensor file seems to work (and the debug page still shows it working as expected). But selecting that sensor type on the screen layout page causes a reboot.
I notice that there is a WIDGET_TRIM choice in the example ems files you have posted. I was hopeful that would help out, but it doesn't seem to be implemented. I suggest this should cause a "not implemented" warning instead of a reboot.
How do I get this trim indicator working? I'd like it to have a take off setting indicator, which could easily be implemented with proper range settings.
On a different topic, I guess that an Angle of Attack display is still in the works?
