I called Control (Melbourne Centre) for a radio check on both radios and get back a "unknown station, readability is 3" response. Same on both radios an SV X 83 and a Trig TY91 both connected via dynon intercom. Reception is flawless. What do I do to troubleshoot? I was using a DC noise cancelling headset. Should I try the Bose? Is this a headset, intercom or transmitter issue?

Well, it's not likely to be the radios if you've got the same issue on both radios (and they're different brands/makers). I'd probably try a different headset first, simply because it's the easiest thing to change and test.
