The version 11 manual mentions a SW update is required for TSO-C166b. The transponder is marked TSO-C166b. Is it safe to assume this is an artifact in the manual or is there an update to the SV FW required as well?

If your transponder is labeled TSO-C166b, then it shipped with the updated software.

Thank you for the confirmation.
The below is copied from revision R (SW 11)  of the operators manual and thus the question. The install manual has a better explanation. Thus the question. I thought it was only a manual update issue.
The FAA compliance check came back as fully compliant. I will add this to the AC records and wait and see how the whole EAB ADSB issue develops.
In the mean time I can be tracked around the DC SFRA :) No where to hide now.  it's good to have the situational awareness that Skyview provides to help keep me from incurring the wrath of the forces of darkness that patrol the DC airspace.

"As of this software version, the SV-XPNDR-26X is certified to TSO C166a.  The FAA has recently mandated TSO C166b for NextGen implementations, and a TSO-C166b software upgrade for the transponder is planned. "
