I have a transponder configured per figure 67 in the manuel (1-2 jumper 12-13 jumper serial in to 5 serial out to 7 power 15 gnd 14) The skyview show good sentences and no errors but with no squat switch attached I would have thought it would work on the ground????

It always shows standby no mater which mode I have it in.
Is this normal?
do you have to be in the air per serial to make it transmit?
