Twin engine monitoring

I was told by Dynon at Oshkosh that twin engine monitoring is one of the items on the to-do list. Just want to put a vote in for that feature. I know of 3 Defiants now using Skyview including mine, and that number will grow. I am waiting for the twin engine feature before I buy the second skyview screen, which will replace 2 VM1000 engine monitors. Between the Defiants, the AirCams, and who knows what else, there is a market for this.

That would be a good move Dynon especially as, I believe, the Vision Microsystems (VMS) are NOT BEING SUPPORTED anymore.

As an FYI, you can pretty much monitor everything on a dual Rotax install with a single EMS module, since the they require less inputs than a more complex engine. Lockwood was actually showing off a Aircam with dual engines monitored on one SkyView.

The EMS module has two RPM inputs, two fuel flow inputs, two main voltage inputs, and then 13 sensor inputs and 14 thermocouple inputs, so you have a lot of capabilities even with one EMS module.

Yes,  but it can't monitor all that you would want with either a single 9 Cyl or twin 6 Cyl, or even twin 4 Cyl engines.   I know its not a major portion of your market, but it is a portion.

Can you give us a ROUGH time frame?  Next 2-3 years, end of this year, end of the summer,  end of next week?  I vote for the latter.  :)

People have mentioned the Aircam a few times so I was just trying to mention that some aircraft do have coverage today. We are aware other aircraft do not have optimal solutions.

This is not a project that is currently being worked on nor is on our immediate priority list, so I can't give even a rough estimate. We're constantly evaluating the demand for various features, so we don't have long term project schedules that we can make any promises against.
