I have been reading that any twisted wires are suitable and had a thought that I have a roll of cat5E networking cable.

This has 4 sets of twisted pairs within the one bundle. They look like they are about 24 or 26 gauge solid conductor.

Would that cable be suitable - would sure save me making my own twisted wire.

It would work....but I would NEVER do it.

In my opinion you should use flexible multi strand wire and a STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) is always better.

Aircraft grade STP is available from Aircraft Spruce P/N 11-04477

Hi David,

I take your point about the solid vs multistrand wire and I agree.
The roll of Cat 5e can stay in my shed for it's real purpose.

However just to show I am hard to get along with, ;)

Your comment about the shielded wire is in direct contradiction to the Dynon support answer to someone else elsewhere on this part of the form where they say shielding offers no benefit.

cheers
