In prep for adding the Dynon ADSB we need to free up a serial port. Currently we are using port 2 RX only for a second GPS (Ifly 720). And using port 3 TX only for output to the ELT (ACK E-04). Since they are both 9,600 baud I was thinking of combining them into one port. Any thoughts about that being a workable solution? Thanks

I believe that will work. You can have the TX function different from the RX function as long as they are the same baud rate. The only port that would be difficult to pair up is the Dynon GPS port. It runs at 38400 baud.
