Two Radios into top line of HDX

I currently have a Garmin GTR 225 connected to my HDX and it works fine using the GTR 225 protocol. I also have an Avidyne IFD540 in the panel and would like to connect either to the HDX selectively, using a switch:

Both radios must use the same protocol for this to work, and both will work with the SL40 or GNC255 protocols.

Before I pull my panel apart, does anyone know of any reason why this switch wouldn't work to allow either radio to push/pull/display on the HDX?

This isn't for switching radios for transmit, but rather to allow either radio to receive frequencies from the EFIS. But I'd love to hear the outcome, so make sure you come back here to report.

This works perfectly. You can be looking at INFO for an airport and flip the switch to whichever radio you want to send the frequency to. It flips to that radio instantly. My configuration:
