Does anyone have an AV-Link installed with an AV-30E? I was wondering if it captures traffic from the ADSB-472 module.

I do.....and it kinda does.

It will say 2 targets but it won't display them. I assume this is becuase it's getting traffic from the Dynon but position from the Garmin GPS175. I don't think it can get position wirelessly.

If anyone has solutions I'm listening. I gave up on it. I just installed it as a backup ADI and ADAHRS for the Dynon system, and it's connected to the GPS175. Be cool if it showed traffic but I already have it on the Dynon and ForeFlight.

How happy are you with the AV30? Asking because they have a Black Friday promo today, giving the AV-Link for free with the purchase of the AV30E. Did you install it yourself? How hard was that? Also, are you using the OAT probe?

Installed it myself. No template to drill the panel for make sure you get that correct. Wiring was easy, only pitot-static, power/ground and an RS-232 for the Garmin. Don’t use my OAT probe for it, didn’t install a second one.

the screen is beautiful. Believe it or not I can get it precess. But it’s honestly the best option out there. Garmin way too expensive and Dynon has nothing that competes. I’m not thrilled with it but would buy them again to put in another plane for sure.

I was ready to pull the trigger with the AV30 when I noticed that a G5+backup battery is close to $100 bucks cheaper than the AV30. I am back to the calculator :)

I installed an AV30 two months ago. Very easy to install. I like that it sits flush. Since it will be used as belt and suspenders backup, I kept it simple. Pitot & Static and a serial in for position, power and ground. If I am relying on the AV30 alone and I am in IMC, I am not going to be concerned about true airspeed. It will be used to keep the plane upright and on a course.
