Hello,

I have a problem with the fuel flow indications on the Dynon DEK180 . The engine it is connected to is ULPower UL260i, and the fuel flow transducer FT-60. The indicated LPH in the DEK180 screen  are 150 lph. This should be at least 5 times less. We tried to adjust the k-value but at best with k-value 99999 we get 90lph. Could you advice us on this issue?

Thanks in advance :)

I'm just guessing here on the UL260i but you may have to install two fuel flow sensors. On my electronic fuel injection the fuel is pumped into the fuel rail and and what's not used is returned to the tank. This is typical for electronic fuel injection. It cools the fuel and avoids vapor lock.

I installed a fuel flow sensor before the fuel rail and one after the fuel rail before it's returned to the tank. Skyview has provisions for this and does the subtraction but I don't know about the FlightDEK-D180.

Go to this thread in the VAF RV-12 forum: http://www.vansairforce.com/community/showthread.php?t=67319&highlight=retrn&page=2. This rather long thread tells the story of how I developed my method of using the RETRN parameter to simulate a second sensor in the fuel return line. If you want to cut to the chase, go down to entry #17. This still results in an approximation, bet after refining the "K" number as recommended in the manual, it is actually quite accurate.
