UMA Probe Lower Calibration Limit

I put in a UMA 1B3 oil temp probe because the original 1 wire probe gave me 30 degree fluctuations in oil temperature from day one (3 years ago). Oil temperature is rock steady now and it looks to be accurate. All is not perfect however.

Now, oil temp indicates 100 degrees F as a minimum, even with a stone cold engine. The UMA specs imply the probe can measure -50 to +150 C. So I presume the EMS-120 software is not calibrated below 100 degrees F. Do I have a problem or is there something that can be done to lower the minimum indication? 50F would be far more useful and 30F would be even better, but I don't see a reason the digital display couldn't be made to work to the probe limits.

I warm up the engine until the oil is a 90 F and do my run-up at 80 F. This is somewhat lower than what Lycoming recommends, but is really quite conservative with multi-weight oil. As it stands, I now need to wait until 105 F or so to ensure I am getting a response from the gauge.

Can this be fixed?
