Hello all. After about 50 hours happy and incident-free use of my D6, it refused yesterday to start up. The screen keeps cycling between the Dynon splash screen and off. I cannot control/switch it off via the unit buttons, only with the avionics master switch. Bizarre as there have been no configuration changes on my aircraft, the weather has been mild, and I have not done anything by way of firmware updating.  Any help/input/ideas gratefully received, Mike.

It will have to come back to Dynon for repair. Please call us at 425-402-0433 or email support@dynonavionics.com

Seems rather drastic, especially since I am located outside CONUS. No trouble-shooting suggestions at all before embarking on an expensive and inconvenient course of action? What is the probable malfunction here, and does it occur more frequently in Dynon/D6 units? Want to explore all options obviously before grounding the ship and resorting to returning the unit. Regards Mike.

It's indicative of the unit not powering up correctly, the unit detecting this, and then rebooting automatically. This is almost 100% indicative of a failed internal component, none of which are field serviceable. The only two things you can try (but they probably won't work, honestly) is removing all power - including the internal battery, if equipped - and then reconnecting it and seeing if that changes anything. Additionally, you can try using the latest support program to try to reinstall the latest firmware version to the unit, even if it already has the latest. Chances are you won't be able to get the unit to communicate with the PC, though, in the state it's in.
