I have successfully used Windows 98, running on Virtual PC 5.0.4 build 2404, running under OS X 10.4.10, on a G4 PowerBook to update my D-10A firmware to 3.0.0. The required serial connection was provided by a Keyspan 4-port USB-serial adapter. Given the number of layers of emulation (OS, CPU, computer hardware, USB to serial, etc), I'm amazed that it worked, but it did.

I am very, very happy, as I can now put off my purchase of a new Mac laptop that would be capable of running Windows directly. I'll wait until they come out with one that is as compact as my 12" PowerBook.

FWIW, the 13-inch Macbook isn't much bigger. My black one (2gb ram, mandatory for good performance) has been the best, most reliable laptop ever.
