USB flash drive failures

I'm not sure if the Sandisk 32gb ultra fit 3.1 flash drives I've been using are terrible quality or if the Dynon EFIS's are USB flash drive killers. In the less than 2 years I've owned a Skyview touch then HDX I've had 3 of these flash drives fail. When they fail they are not discovered when inserted into a USB drive on my computers.

Is these a better option for low profile USB flash drives?

Heat is the enemy of these drives - I quit using the low-profile units a while back because they cannot dissipate the heat they generate when the databases up being updated on your laptop, and it plays hell with the chip inside the stick. I went back to the full size sticks and the problem disappeared.

Yeah, I would like to have the miniature sticks - but I prefer to have them function when I want to use them, so...
