Any thought put into providing a remote mounted mode select button that would allow the pilot to keep Hands On Throttle And Stick (HOTAS) and be able to cycle through screen selections (map/HSI/Engine/EFIS/etc...)?

We really hope that there will be less screen switching in the new system, but we do have hardware in the screens that would allow us to do this. No promises when (or if) the software would ever support this.

Has there been any change to this advice since the last post above (2008)?

I have a large EFIS system from a competitor which has recently gone out of business. The display is set behind a smoked plexiglass screen in the panel, so must be controlled with a remote keypad (one dial and 4 buttons) set into the armrest.

The remote keypad is great for entering instructions in turbulence and I'd like to avoid having to completely redesign the panel.

I am intending to replace the unit soon. I have found one other major EFIS manufacturer who is willing to work with me to remote-mount their controls. It would be helpful to know if SkyView is likely to be able to do the same.

Our current products do not have this capability, though it's certainly a lot easier to implement on SkyView. No promises, but it's one we'd like to implement some day. It's definitely not a release feature.
