in the manual page 9-6 in the section "remote compass not detected" i find this phrase:

Note that the EFIS-D10A does not have internal magnetic sensors and thus requires the EDC-D10A be connected.

i thought the D10A had an internal compass?

That's a typo. Thanks for finding it. The EFIS-D10A does have built in magnetometers.
