Using Mono headset with DYNON stereo intercom

I plan to use the new DYNON stereo intercom in a one-place airplane. I plan to use stereo headsets but am wondering what would happen if a mono headset is used. The mono set would probably short one of the outputs to ground and I don't know if that would damage the intercom. I would prefer not to install a stereo/mono switch near the headset jacks but can if necessary. Chances are a mono headset would never be used but in case it is, I want to make sure the intercom is not damaged.

This is no problem. The intercom is designed to allow any of the headset outputs to be shorted without causing any damage. If a mono headset was used, you would no longer be able to hear either the left or right input of the music input and EFIS inputs. Other than this, there is no performance difference.

It is also possible that a mono headset would cause the fail safe mode of the intercom to stop working. If this occurs, it means the wires leading to the L/R connections on the panel jack need to be swapped.
