With Oshkosh upon us do you have any feel for when we might expect v3.2 to be released?

We're not so close that we have a date that we're ready to publish yet, but it will be after Oskhosh. We should be showing off most of the capabilities at Oshkosh though.

For those not headed to OSHKOSH could you post screen shots of what the new fonts will look like on the 7" SKYVIEW?

won - we'll post some shots shortly

SteveDen - On the map, the big feature in 3.2 is the ability to pan around the map, which will help with everything from examining airspace that isn't right around you, as well as seeing further down your flight plan. This also sets the groundwork for weather and other mapping features. Also, in 3.2 you'll be able to change the orientation of the map (north up, for example) if you prefer.

3.2 will not allow you to add a permanent user waypoint via the map cursor.

You will be able to add a point on the map to a flight plan or a direct to, but this will not be saved long term.

ETE

I have just one week of flying the skyview in my new RV7A.  The skyview is simply awsome!

One thing I would like to see is ETE on the map without having to go to the flight plan.  It seems like there would be plenty of room on top or bottom of the dtw text.

Also would it be possible to nominate a default bug?  when I have the map active (always), that makes all the bugs available only on the left knob.  If I do not carefully verify that I have the correct bug selected, it is easy to change an altitude.  I would say that the heading bug is most frequently used.  It would be nice in setup (or maybe I missed it) to have an option to leave the bug on last selected or have a default bug that it would go back to after 5-10 seconds.

In the autopilot is there a way to do heading to intercept a nav course?
this is a frequent atc request?

ljbuller: More info widgets on the map will happen in a future release. Autopilot sequencing will likely be a part of what we call the "advanced" autopilot functionality that's a future planned set of modes for the SkyView autopilot.

For what it's worth, I agree with ljbuller's plea to be able to nominate a default bug - but on both sides of the screen, even on the map. And I'd like to see a way to instantly sync the heading - for example by pushing on top of the joy stick, rather than waiting two seconds pushing sideways on the stick. A loud bump in turbulence can cause you to spasm into altitude while trying to sync heading. I may have said all this before somewhere. Vote early and often. ;) Jack L.

Sorry for the delay, here's one shot of 3.2, with larger fonts and panning active. We had to swap the wind arrow and HSI data to fit everything.

We'll have 3.2 at OSH for anyone that wants to try it out.

Appreciate if you would post a solo shot of the PFD page in all it's glory.

Thanks!

thank you for posting a picture. Looks good.
Be great to see a picture of the engine, pfd and map if possible.
Will the pixelation of the map and pfd ever get smoother or improved or is this as good as we should expect? looks great just wondering?

I was happy with the old text but this looks good :). Not too chunky to make it cartoonish but it did loose a bit of elegance. Next time just make the screen bigger eh.
