I an considering replacing my antiquated EMS with a D20. I already have Van's stream fuel gauges. Can I leave them in place and also use the D20 in parallel for redundancy?

Was "stream" a typo? Basically, with engine monitors there isn't easy redundancy to be had. By paralleling most of the signals, you end up changing their characteristics. Then, even if you were able to get everything working, the failure of your antiquated EMS could cause different electrical changes that would compromise the readings on the EMS-D10. So in short, you want to change over wholesale. Now, you may be able to connect to your existing CHTs and EGTs if they're type J and K thermocouples, respectively, and that would save you a good cost of the sensors. If by "Vans stream fuel gauges" you meant "Vans series fuel gauges", and these are the gauges/senders you're using - http://www.vansaircraft.com/cgi-bin/store.cgi?ident=1466553244-168-150&browse=ei&product=vans-fuellev - we can connect to those senders (you'd end up disconnecting the existing gauges)
