After the trip to Sun n Fun I've realized the future of Vertical Power's VP-200 and Skyview working together is ify at best. Vertical Power's position is that Dynon broke a working interface and they will fix it when they can. I asked by Oshkosh and they said maybe. Dynon's position is they never supported the VP-200 so shouldn't have to now.
So their collective positions may make sense to them it leaves me nowhere. If I upgrade past 5.0 I break the interface. I don't know how many are using vp-200 and skyview. I guess not enough. So until one of the companies decide supporting the customers who use Skyview and VP-200 is important enough to spend some time on, I guess it is up to us.
I was impressed with you guys that worked on the data logger and wondered if a similar solution could be used for this problem. I have found industrial style boards that run linux and have multiple serial ports. Maybe a program could be written that would strip out the new data out of the data stream and format it like the original stream. I know it is a ugly solution but I like both the Vertical Power and Skyview and I don't know of another way. Software propgraming is a hobby for me so I would like some input from others more capable.
