Jan Eggenfellner of Viking engines says that the ECU has outputs for duration and frequency of the fuel injector pulse to compute the fuel usage.
I am now aware of such an input for the D180. Is there?

Our products do not currently have a way to utilize those signals to compute fuel flow. Fuel flow is only computed from an installed fuel flow transducer.

This is the reply from Viking.
Is there anyway that you can get togeather with them and work this out?

"Each injector will squirt 180ml/minute at 50 psi fuel pressure. The duration is from a couple of ms at idle to about 14ms at full power, for each injector. The math should arrive to about 10.5 GPH at max HP output / hr.

It sure would be nice to have this feature. I'm going to have this engine next summer to replace the VW now in use. Would like to keep better track of fuel.

Thanks

The hardware in the D180 is not capable of reading those signals. We are aware of what we need to read to make it work, and the D180 cannot do it. The SkyView has the hardware to do it, but we have not written the software since the demand for the feature is low.

Part of the reason the demand is low is that you can always use the standard method of a fuel flow sender. If you install that sender you can get accurate fuel flow and RPM with the D180 or SkyView system.

Hi further to Dans Query will your Fuel transducers be suitable for the High Imput & Return Fuel flows of both the Viking Honda & the UL Power Engines as they BOTH us simular fuel injection systems? Pity the installed pickups on these engine could not be utilised!
Thanks John H. :)
