The voltage display on the D100 has an M, E, and I. I understand the M is for voltage at the Master switch, but I don't know what E and I are telling me. I do not have the keep alive wired in, but I do have the backup battery installed. I have no other optional backup power supplied to the unit.

M, E, and I displays all have values >0 on my D100, so I don't understand what E and I are telling me.

thanks for the help.

yep, I looked at that prior to posting my question. Sorry I'm so dense, but I don't understand what the manual is telling me.

From the manual, E says its the "optional external backup" voltage. I don't have backup external power supply wired into my D100, so I don't understand why my unit shows >0 on the indicator.
From the manual, "I" says its the internal battery voltage. Is that the backup lithium ion battery of the D100?

Sorry, I am so confused....

Nice to know you read the manual as so many don't - understanding is another issue & I've also had difficulty understanding some manuals ;)

I is the internal backup battery.

E would be the 'old' keep alive circuit that's not used anymore.

Page 5-11 of user guide says:

The first row, labeled M, displays the Master Switch voltage. The second row, labeled E, displays your optional external backup voltage. The third row, labeled I, displays the EFIS-D10A internal battery voltage.

So actually "E" is not the keep alive voltage on pin 2. It's the "Emergency" or "External" power input, which is pin 15. This is generally used if you have an essential bus in the plane.

That for clarifying that for me.
