In the VPX installation manual it advises you to connect the trim and flap position sensors directly to the VPX and then it sends this info to the EFIS via the serial connection.

1. Is this correct for the Dynon Skyview application?
2. If so, does this free up three of the general purpose inputs on the EMS, previously used for pitch/roll trim & flap position, for other appropriate uses?
3. Are the trim & flap positions still displayed on the engine page or will they now be part of the 'electrical' page?

The more I learn about the Skyview system the more I like it, keep up the good work.

cheers

You can hook your trim and flaps to either the EMS module or the VP-X. We expect most people will use the connection to the VP-X.

The SkyView EMS is freely configurable across the 13 general purpose inputs, so this does free up 3 inputs.

The trim and flap positions are displayed identically to the way they are if they come from the SkyView EMS.

1. You can connect it through the VP-X or through the Dynon - your choice
2. Yes
3. Still on the engine page. If hooked up through the VP-X, you can use the VP-X page (which takes up part of the engine page, forcing a 50% or greater page size temporarily, and splitting the VP-X with the 20% engine page) to activate the trim from the VP-X page controls.
