Warning Lights

I was reading through the info for my ECU and a capacitive type fuel probe, both of which have options for a warning light. The fuel probe has a wire to turn on a light when the fuel hits a preset point to warn about low fuel. The ECU has the same function if there is an internal error. It's meant to turn on a light. It would be easy to connect both to a general purpose input pin on the EMS and set it up as a contact.

The contacts can probably use any widget, but the button style widget is normally the best choice. What would be nice is if we could specify the shape of the button. For instance, rather than just the round button, perhaps a fuel pump for low fuel, an open canopy icon, gear down icon, engine icon, etc.

I've been experimenting with the ENGINE page again. I added some contacts and have been struggling with the contact widget. A couple of things I discovered.

If you remove the name from the pin in the section where you set the ranges it makes a better display in some cases. Good candidates are VOLTS, AMPS and RPM. See the display below. It also would be nice to be able to remove the function. The AFR widget isn't volts but the word VOLTS can't be removed.

It would be nice if we could use an arc for fuel levels with the empty part of the tank showing as black like in the fuel bars.

The contacts are the least modifiable. You can remove the name and the range to leave a simple button, but you can't remove the button itself. It would be nice to have a TEXT widget that displayed the range name rather then the range value. It would act like a contact without the button. The button without the name and range can be placed behind another widget. In the display below, the ECU widget will display a red background in the RPM if there is an error in the ECU. Scary but effective.
