Hi,

I've got a Westach Oil Pressure sender S/W 279-A (387_v2-c).
It is 240 ohm at 0 PSI senders.

Details:
- 230 to 250 ohm at 0 PSI
- 90 to 110 ohm at mid scale
- 25 to 30 ohm at full scale

I wouldn't like to pay again a new sender if possible, but I can't manage to make it recognized by Skyview.

Any help would be grantful...

The first thing to do is to determine if your sensor is connected correctly. The 240 Ohms is outside the range of most of our sensors, so try setting that sensor in SkyView (in SENSOR INPUT MAPPING) to the "Stewart Warner 15PSI" sensor file. It has a similar resistance range to the Westech. If the sensor is connected (none of the wires are broken and not mis-wired), then SkyView should recognize the sensor. But it will probably give a reading 1/10 of the actual. (Because of the 15 psi instead of 150 psi range.) If SkyView still doesn't recognize it, then look for wiring problems.

If SkyView does recognize the sensor, then we could create a new sensor file for it. But that is not our first recommendation. As your data indicates, that sensor is not very accurate, and we have had some issues with that brand. We would strongly suggest you switch to one of our new Kavlico sensors, part number 101693-000. It will be very accurate, and very reliable, and is only US$85.

Ok, I tried the "Steward Warner 15 PSI" Pin 6 configuration
I also connected signal on PIN 6, and ground on PIN 3.

The wiring is correct, and verified with Ohmmeter: 240 ohm without pressure, and around 60 ohm when engine is running.

But always a red cross on the OIP P on the Skyview.

What do you see under EMS SETUP > SENSOR DEBUG DATA for that sensor/pin?

Nothing worked, but the westach dial and our voltmeter...
So we made a new choice to buy a Dynon Legacy Oil Pressure sensor... And it worked on the first try... Marvelous ;-)
