what is serial TX

SV manaul figure 79 and 12-5,

I am still mulling over installing the KLN 90b via its arinc to the SV arinc and if it will work or not. I have the install manual and trying to identify the pins.. My question is, what is the serial TX pin..and what does it provide? is that just an aviation RS 232 pin or something different?

from the KLN manaul it seems to all be there from what I can tell except the serial TX, which would need to go to PIN 3 on the dynon 429...

other pins on the KLN 90b per the manual..
4 and 5: EFIS 429 Receiver Inputs
8 and 9: Air Data 429 Receiver Inputs
Pin 13: RS 232 Out
23 and 24: GPS 429 Outputs
(I don't see any pins in KLN manaul labeled "serial")

Ok..I think I may have answered my own question by comparing the garmin 300xl pinouts... The garmin manual labeled the tx line pin 24 as a RS 232 output going into SV 429 pin 3...so I think I am good with the serial question.

but this raises one more clarification. the pinouts are labeled different in the 300xl and SV manual vs the KLN manual.. vs the pin outs I listed above what would be equal to OUTPUT A AND OUTPUT B, OR IN 1A, IN 1B

If you're going to the ARINC module, it's the GPS 429 outputs that you'd bring into the SV-ARINC-429. Additionally, the auxiliar serial input from the GPS to the ARINC module would provide altitude information into the ARINC module to "complete" the 3d GPS position input for SkyView, but this only works if that serial output is in aviation format. If it's not, you'll still get HSI information for driving the HSI/Autopilot, but SkyView would need a separate source (nominally an SV-GPS-250, which we recommend that everyone equip with anyway) to enable Synthetic Vision and other features such as terrain alerting (which need aircraft altitude from GPS).

Hi ryanallen

         Send me a PM with your e-mail adress and I will send you a schematic for the Pin out from the KLN-90B to the Arinc 429 (Including the connection to the annunciator panel which is required ) and on to the Skyview..
