What will the D100 EFIS do out of the box

I am slightly confused about what the D100 will do out of the box? a lot of screen shots of engine monitoring and such. e.g. AI, ASI, Altitude, Heading Indicator, etc.

I am making the assumption that it does not have any of the enine monitoring based on my next question.

Are there plans to make a EMS system that just piggy backs on to the EFIS display, thus saving the cost of another TFT screen (make it a data panel on the EFIS)?

I was reading further about GPS inputs - what data will the EFIS output from the GPS?

Thanks in advance for entertaining my newbie questions.

The initial EFIS-D100 software has an identical feature set as the EFIS-D10A. This includes Attitude, Airspeed, Altimeter, VSI, Gyro-Stabilized Compass Heading, Turn Coordinator/Ball, Turn Rate, Clock/Timer, G-Meter, Voltmeter, Angle of Attack (with optional Dynon AOA pitot probe), and serialized altitude encoder output to a transponder. It can additionally store checklists uploaded via a PC connection

You are correct in that the EFIS-D100 does not have a native engine monitoring capability, but in the coming months it will be able to be interfaced to our EMS line of engine monitoring products and when connected it will redisplay the EMS data in the split screen format that you have probably seen mock-ups of.

There are no current plans to make a stand-alone engine monitor "black box" that hooks up to the EFIS-D100.

In the coming months the EFIS-D100 will also be able to accept input from external GPS units. The full extent of that capability has yet to be defined, but at the very least you will get some interesting primary flight metrics (like winds aloft) that can be derived by combining EFIS and GPS data. The EFIS-D100 will not be able to redisplay mapping data from GPS units as this data is generally not outputted in an externally consumable format.
