Where is the best spot to disconnect the keep alive wire on the D120? Inside the 37 pin connector? Do you remove the #2 pin with the yellow wire or just cut the wire? Is the keep alive on the D100 also the #2 yellow wire also? I have a garmin 496 to keep time. I assume the keep alive wire is not fused or on a breaker. After my D120 would not boot up I Pulling the breaker on the D120 had no sucess in trying to reboot so after reading this forum I pulled the D120 out of the panel and disconnected the 37 pin for a minute and reconnected and the D120 then booted up fine. Now I just need to cut the yellow keep alive but at what spot?

I think it's best to remove the wire completely however you could cut it at the coonector if you don't have the removal tool. Pin 2 is keep alive (should be fused close to power source) on both units - Dynon recommendation is to not connect keep alive.

If the keep alive is fused the easy solution is simply to remove the fuse. Just make sure to make a note on your wiring diagrams that the fuse is removed and that there is no power on that line.

I mentioned removing the wire as it can become an 'antenna' for picking up and introducing 'noise' into the system ;)

Fair enough! My method would have been effective but yours is much more thorough and a better choice down the road.
