Why does the SV system use 2 inputs for a single tachometer? Are both required, preferred or is only 1 required?

Thanks

Only one is required. Two are supplied because in a lot of installs, RPM is read off the P-leads, and the P-leads go silent when you do a Mag check, so this allows you so still see the RPM when doing a mag check.

As a follow up question.

Will the SV system accept a mag type input on one channel and an EI "wasted spark" input on the other channel?

One channel will have twice the pulse rate of the other.

Can the SV recognise different pulse rates per Rev on left and right channels?

I'm setting up my IO360M1B engine now for installation in my RV9A, I have one mag and one Lightspeed Plasma 1 EI, how will I get the tach input for the SV? Where does that come from?

Tach input is from the Mag P lead & LSE manual has the info for the other one - did you read the SV install info on this ?

As is usually the case - deeper reading in the manual (RTFM solves everything!) gave me the answer - I was looking for the "How do I physically connect" answer to the EMS, found it in the installation details.

Thanks...
